Why do you believe SEL and EQ are important?

The primary energy source are emotions. This is what drives you in the morning to kickstart your day. This is what keeps you at your goal despite the challenges one faces. The more settled we are at the core , the more energy we give to ourselves, our work and home !

Do you have any personal anecdotes about how SEL/EQ has brought you success in your
personal life/career?

Armed with a strong emotional fiber, I felt most empowered while taking a stand with the biggies at work. Using I statements could share my experiences and take a stand in front of my seniors.

What do you believe to be one or two of the main challenges in Business Professionals today?

The stress around family affairs and the ever changing dynamics at the workplace. The need to be emotionally anchored despite the constant pulls on our life force energy due to the constant interactions- virtual and off line!

Conversely, what do you believe to be one or two of the biggest opportunities in Business Professionals today?

The ability to tap into the subconscious brain to bring your best foot forward at work and back at home.

Why do you believe SEL and EQ are important?

More and more soft skills are what is setting each of us apart. Especially as more AI becomes prominent, our humanness is what will connect us together. Being mindful and aware not only of our intentions, but the impact of our actions and words is critical.

Do you have any personal anecdotes about how SEL/EQ has brought you success in your
personal life/career?

EQ has allowed me to excel in sales as an introvert by building deep connections and relationships based on shared values. Having better self awareness has helped me navigate stressful situations like deal negotiations, diffusing and resolving client issues and managing my own personal health. SEL strategies were foundational for overcoming a breakdown and chronic illness.

What do you believe to be one or two of the main challenges in Business Professionals today?

Feeling less connected, more isolated and alone despite the proliferation of technology that allows and promotes being “connected.”

Conversely, what do you believe to be one or two of the biggest opportunities in Business Professionals today??

Authentic leadership by going first and showing what’s involved. Not the highlight reel, but the reality of the journey. Too much of what we are seeing is not relatable, surface level and when we see truth telling from personal experience, the imperfections are refreshing, real and honest.

Once I was able to become more aware of myself and developed SEL and EQ, I was better able to address workplace issues objectively with the ability to see things from all perspectives.
